Sway Boutique
May 6, 2026What began as a small booth at local farmers markets has grown into a vibrant food truck serving authentic bubble tea and Asian-inspired desserts in Central Louisiana.
Owner My Tra first introduced Boba Stop at farmers markets in Alexandria, Louisiana, sharing her love of bubble tea and specialty desserts with the community. As customers returned week after week, it became clear there was strong interest in these unique flavors. The experience sparked a bigger vision—bringing Boba Stop on the road through a food truck.
To take the next step, My connected with the LSBDC at LSUA for guidance on how to move from a market vendor to an operating business.
Through one-on-one consulting, the LSBDC team provided resources including a business plan template, cash flow tools, and guidance on registering the business. They also helped My navigate the process of securing the permits and licenses required to operate a food truck.
With these resources and support, Boba Stop completed the necessary paperwork and approvals and launched the food truck within two months.
Today, Boba Stop serves authentic bubble teas, coffees, smoothies, and slushies alongside desserts such as French macarons, taiyaki, and ube-flavored treats. The food truck continues to bring new flavors and experiences to customers across Central Louisiana.
“Starting a small business is not easy, especially when you have no clue where to begin. Thanks to LSBDC for providing such amazing services and helping our dream come true! LSBDC patiently guided us through the process of starting a business, step by step from registering the business name to getting permits from the Health Department. Everyone was very helpful and always ready to help whenever we reached out. We highly recommend LSBDC to others!”
