Rebuilding Stronger: From Hurricane Recovery to National Growth

Helping the Shreveport Community Move, Recover, and Thrive
May 6, 2026For Jordanna Coleman, growth didn’t happen by accident—it happened through strategy, support, and showing up ready to learn. With guidance from the LSBDC at Southern University, Jordanna became certified as a Small and Emerging Business Development (SEBD) firm and a Hudson Initiative participant in November 2023. From there, she and LC Transport Services, LLC leaned into capacity-building services across Louisiana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem—with the LSBDC helping her navigate the right programs at the right time.
Through continued support from the LSBDC, Jordanna strengthened internal operations, improved compliance readiness, and built a clearer plan for long-term growth. With the LSBDC’s guidance, she also leveraged Louisiana’s broader entrepreneurial ecosystem by participating in business-building opportunities such as entrepreneurial training, peer roundtables, and targeted education in marketing, accounting, and operations.
As a result of this coordinated ecosystem support and focused planning, LC Transport Services grew from an early-stage business generating about $20,000 annually to a second-stage company producing over $780,000 in annual revenue—and still climbing.
Jordanna shares, “If you don’t plan, you plan to fail. The LSBDC at SUBR has helped me not only create a plan, but strategically plan for the success of my business.”
